The Workhouse

Decided to take myself off to Southwell today to visit the Workhouse. Beautiful Georgian building, it holds a fascinating insight into the lives of paupers in the 1840s ....
This was the laundry room where the female inmates worked after breakfast......I remember my Nan still using the dolly tub and mangle in the 60s ..
Well worth a visit..... Take a picnic though as the tea shop only does sandwiches and drinks.....no cream teas
