Lay-By on the A21
One of the delights of living in the Garden of England is being able to buy fruit in the summer from stalls set up in nearly every layby . The cherries came from an orchard in Five Oak Green, the strawberries from Maidstone and the peaches from "Spain" - well do you really expect English peaches. The girls pick the cherries and strawberries in the morning and sell them on the stall in the afternoon. Much fresher than the shops.
