Fantail, Kotuku and shags
Blip mate and I went to Ruby Bay this morning for our weekly shared outing. We originally started looking for fungi but once found and photographed we drifted over to the beach where there were a selection of sea birds.
On the way home we spotted in a small inlet, a rare sighting of the beautiful white heron or Kotuku as it is known here, althought wasn't really close enough to get a good pic.
A hard decision to know what to blip today - for me it has to be the birds so here is a selection. A fantail quivering its wings, a group of shags trying to get airborne and the kotuku with a grey heron friend sharing the fishing.
