Dorothy

Every time I visit her, my Aunt Dorothy is sound asleep. So I sit at the edge of her bed and coax her awake. I think I'm just one more person who awakens her, at our own convenience, and I don't think she likes it much, but such is life in a nursing home. It takes several minutes, but finally she'll sit up and we'll visit awhile. In the dark; she likes to keep her room dark with the door open less than half way.
She says she sleeps much of the day away and is awake at night. Claims she just lays there and thinks. How bleak sounding. The staff claim she is much more active in the night and calls them into her room so she can tease them with her wry comments, jabs, and humor.
