Thermals

I believe this buzzard was 'riding the thermals' - so an ornithologist type told me when I showed him the pic earlier today.  Back home now and this shot taken near Newton Stewart was a nice one to end the break on.  I took it by panning the 300mm Nikon lens so quality isn't great but look at those body curves and swoops of this massive bird as it scours the valley bottom for prey.  It's not called a raptor for nothing!
