A taste of things to come

I went back to the patch of red I glimpsed on my last trip to Elford Hall Gardens. I was SO right.  It's going to be even more glorious as more of the poppies take over the field.

There is a car park on the left as you approach Elford village (not far from Tamworth in Staffordshire) and from the riverbank you get the view of the field in all its glory.  It will be worth a return visit as it develops.

Elford Hall Gardens were looking splendid (and so quiet). They've nearly finished restoring the Boat House. The poppies and the roses are a delight.
