Loch Lomond

Greetings from Loch Lomond!

The ride up (yes, we decided to brave the weather and go on the bike) was longer than we expected but not bad. Ironically, the weather only turned just as we crossed the border into Scotland! But, temperature wise it's great for the bike and we soon dried off.

Our home for the night is right on the loch; we have a cute little cottage in Balmaha.

Once we'd checked in, we had a nice hot shower, changed into clean, dry clothes and went for a walk by the loch.

There's not much to do around here (as we don't want to go anywhere on the bike tonight) so we are chilling in the restaurant where I've just had the most amazing Cullen skink and haggis, neeps & tatties with a whisky sauce.

Tomorrow we head up through the Trossachs to see Glencoe, Fort William & the Glenfinnan viaduct. If the weather picks up, we might also be able to see Ben Nevis. Fingers crossed :-)
