Porty People and Places
The sea was like a mirror this evening.
Dare I whisper that there was a hint of warmth in the air?
This nun was purposeful in her perambulation and possibly also in her prayerful reflections at the water's edge.
Another busy day of meetings and calls was punctuated by a lunchtime swim and an early evening walk to the post office and back along the shore.
We saw a very unholy punch up taking place on Portobello High Street that reminded me of the sort of dust ups that happen in western films. The two combatants took their fight from the pavement into the middle of the street and held up the traffic until their alcohol and adrenalin fuelled brawl spent itself. Such was their mutual inebriation that, luckily, most of their punches were swung wide of their targets.
( We were glad that we did not have our grandchildren with us on this occasion to witness such uncouthy goings on !)
