Fresh water pearls

At the market last week, we came across a guy selling fresh water pearls - real ones. As my friend, Joan, is into jewelery, I was able to get some excellent advice about what to buy - I now know quite a lot about selecting the best quality pearls.

 The ones in my hand had already been made up but I wanted a pendant to go with the earrings so the guy in the picture is attaching a fitting to the pearl that Joan selected for me- cool, huh?
