Candy-stripe Spider – (Enoplognatha ovate)
Found this lovely Spider in a hazel tree at the bottom of the garden this morning. There was no web in evidence and it was scuttling about - impossible to blip. So I took it indoors and put it in a goldfish bowl with some hazel leaves so I could catch it on its natural habitat. Would it stay on the leaves? No, it kept trying to climb the sides of the bowl. So I gave up on that idea and put the bowl on a green saucer so the colour of the Spider's body would show up. The body is about 6mm - it is a very small spider.
