Yorkshire Dales
Mr P usually cycles out this way every weekday but today as a treat we drove through the Dales past Grassington and had a brunch at the old schoolroom in Hebdon that is now tea rooms.
On the way back we stopped so I could take this shot of a more unfamiliar view of Burnsall.
The avenue of thick, lush trees line the River Wharfe as it winds through the dales and you can see what is such a familiar church to most people in these parts.
Can you see the bench at the bottom of the photograph, wouldn't it be wonderful to sit and enjoy the stillness and quiet except for birdsong?
We passed Appletreewick and Bolton Abbey on the way home (reminiscing about happy times we have spent in this area in years gone past, especially when our children were young: walking , fell running and camping) less than 20 minutes from where we live.
Now looking forward to all the happy times here in the future.
Being here is good for my soul.
