Knole Park: Fallow Deer
More fixed a stare in large.
Back blip.
I visited Knole Park and House in Sevenoaks yesterday; the sun shone gloriously, and it was wonderful to see all the deer! They've 450(ish) deer, and the herd is (apparently) descended from the herd that Henry VIII hunted: they've currently 400 fallow deer and 50 sika deer. We only saw one sika deer, but saw lots of spotty fallow deer, and even caught a brief glimpse of a fallow fawn (disappearing into the bracken) which was sweet.
The house itself was also interesting (the Orangery was my favourite bit), although there is quite a lot of repair and conservation work going on at the moment.
I've uploaded some other shots to Flickr (here).
This is my alternative.
