Snowy Mountains

A glorious day after waking to white everywhere and a chilly -5C. Daughter E had a late shift at work today so late morning we headed out in search for some snow.

Just on an hours drive from home there is still plenty of snow, some was found just out the back of Oxford. E took this shot somewhere between Oxford and the Waimakariri Gorge as I was driving, certainly shows the blue sky of today and the snowy, snowy mountains. At the gorge it was 4C while on the North Canterbury plains a warmer 9C, quite refreshing to be out today.

Grocery day with mum tomorrow, there just might be some more snowy shots but then again mum does enjoy being by the sea so maybe not, time will tell.
