View of The Potamac River from the balcony of The Estate House, River Farm, Alexandria, VA.  It was a very hot and humid today so sitting on the balcony in the shade overlooking the Potomac River with passing sail boats and canoes, it gave us a feeling of tranquility and relaxation.  River Farm is the Headquarters of the American Horticultural Society.  The Estate House, which is full of beautiful paintings on exhibit, the informal gardens, lovely blossoms and historic White House gates, made for a very pleasant afternoon. After dinner we wandered along the waterfront alongside the Potomac at Old Town Alexandria.  Planes were passing over our heads about every 90 seconds flying out of Reagan National Airport.
