Raptorsfire

I've had very interesting, enjoyable even quite exciting bits to my day today. And some bits that were not!

A very busy work day, was frustrated by a computer system that was not playing ball.

At lunchtime, I set out with 2 aims in mind. My friend James was keen to show me a hidden church which he suspected I hadn't yet discovered, and he was right! St Mary the Less. Hidden behind a load of modern buildings. He also insisted on a name check in the blip - even though he won't read it! So, thank you James for this little bit of Norwich education. I've looked further Into the history, and it says it fell out of use in 1544. Incredible that any still remains.

Number 2 lunchtime job, was to locate a dragon painted by the (clearly very talented) daughter of a work colleague. Her name is Jessica Copping and she was responsible for painting Raptorsfire who is located by Pull's Ferry - some may recognise it from an earlier blip when I first discovered this spot.

From there I walked along the river to 'Cow Tower' a blip for another day. I could have stayed out all afternoon discovering new places. I made a mental note of some nice looking pubs - The Red Lion, Adam & Eve, coming back into the city past 2 more dragons & always keeping my eye on the cathedral spire, so that I knew which way to go!

The afternoon was nowhere near as exciting. The computer continued to play up, and then at just before 4 I got the text I've been dreading 'the bus went without me'

My heart sank, and it's at times like this I realise our situation is not ideal. I'm at least an hour away by bus and car, he has no siblings close by and his dad is 2 hours away!

I suppose as usual I worried unnecessarily. Henry is a sensible boy, but I was worried about him being in a strange(?) town without any means to get home. But he caught up with his friend Fred while walking in to town, and Fred invited him back home. I am very grateful to Fred, but then again I would happily do the same for one of Henry's friends if the situation were reversed.

Since getting home, we put a few more bits up in the loft. I don't know what else I've done but I've had another disappearing evening!
