Reichstag Dome

This morning was the highlight of our visit to Berline as I had booked for us to go into the dome of the Reichstag building while the rest of our party went on a coach tour of Berlin. The dome was designed by Sir Norman Foster. We walked up and down the spiral slope twice, using a different focal length lens on each trip.

The Queen has been visiting Berlin for the last two days and she and Prince Philip were actually in the Reichstag building while we were in the dome. Later when we were waiting to cross the road near the Brandenberg Gate the whole cavalcade came past us. I even managed to get a picture but unfortunately part of the Queen's face is obscured by part of the car's window. However she did wave to us.

We finished our day with a visit to the San Souci Palace in Potsdam.
