Purplexed.......!

You've probably seen that photo doing the rounds at present, of a board outside a pub which asks 'Are you going to go and stare at your phone anywhere interesting this weekend?'

It's true.....we rely a lot on our phones nowadays, and not just for speaking - emails, banking, photography....all of it can be done on our mobiles.

I've received a wedding invitation by email this week, which I found slightly odd, and last weekend, a friend texted me an invitation to a Swedish-themed midsummer BBQ. The message gave the usual details about where and when, with an intriguing instruction at the end, which read "Don't wear clothes!"

Now I'm as broadarsedminded as the next non-Swede, but prancing about an Edinburgh garden in the altogether, is not my idea of a good time!

So I phoned the party-giver, and said I'd love to see everyone, but not all of everyone.....and after much confusion on both sides, we realised that what the invitation should have said, was "Don't wear good clothes!!".

What a relief! I'd have had to have shaved my legs again....
