Ben Nevis from Stronaba
There was a lot going on in the Highlands, and in Lochaber, this weekend. Big World Mountain Bike Event at Nevis Range and the Olympic Torch passing through local towns and villages. It was a 30 blip day, frustrating given the lack of opportunity earlier in the week.
This morning we had some jobs to do at the cottage at Mhairi's Mum's croft. I had a wee look up at the water supply which is working fine and ventured a little further up the hill. I have been up here loads of times but never previously noticed this arrangement of boulders. I wonder if there is some archaelogical interest to them or have they simply been deposited by glacial action. Whatever, they provided an unusual foreground to this shot of Ben Nevis, Scotland's Highest Mountain and Munro. Dead centre of the image is Aonach Mor, with a wee splash of sunlight on its slopes, where the Mountain Bike heats are taking place today.
