School's Out For Summer!
Bicycle Ride No. 1
A beautiful day dawned after the wind of last night for San Juan.
We went down for our BBQ but the wind was very strong and there were only a few bonfires stacked on the beach. So we set up chairs and a table and had a drink and snacks and then headed back to cook the BBQ at a friends. So we did not see any bonfires or anyone diving into the sea at midnight, as is the custom, on San Juan, but the Flamingos as if on cue, flew over. Just managed to get a few shots but not good enough to post. However, we had a good evening.
Today I went on my bicycle to Playa San Miguel (in extra pictures) along the back road and then back on the cycle path along the promenade, stopping for re-fueling at Mar Azul for a coffee and rest. As I cycled along the prom, the curry plants gave off that wonderful spicy aroma.
I came across these children on skateboards and scooters. They were having a great time.
Further along, the beaches were being cleaned after last night removing all trace of the bonfires. In extra pictures you can see them dousing one of the fires.
To make up for my lovely trip out I cleaned the kitchen drawers! Everything has to be paid for in some way!
