Leviathan

I've been looking forward to this for weeks. A trip to Birr Castle to see their archives and tour the telescope. Graciously received by his Grace, or whatever they call themselves.

Thanks to the German tourists who stood in just the right place to offer a sense of the size of the enormous telescope and its impressive, monumental housing. Reading the letters to the third earl about the telescope, I found it variously described as the giant, monumental, monster, and great telescope. I can see why.
