Democracy in action

Norwich City Council met this evening and one of the agenda items related to the Bedroom Tax.

The Green party put forward a motion which resolved to ask the cabinet to take three specific actions relating to how the Bedroom Tax is implemented in Norwich. 

About 50 people -young and old - staged a peaceful demonstration outside City Hall before the Council meeting then went in and listened as the motion wasn't carried.

The Labour group appeared particularly spineless.
