Gabriel's Oboe

As the summer term draws to a close, it seems that life speeds up instead of slowing down.
There have been many achievements this term in various fields but especially in music.
Tonight was the high school summer concert, which was also a farewell concert for our retiring head teacher.
We enjoyed an array of very talented young musicians, and some not so young, as staff got in on the act too, especially the "heedie" who played various instruments in a selection of groups and ensembles.
Calum sang a duet accompanied by the chamber orchestra that had me wiping my eyes, but the real performance of the evening was the finale by the string orchestra playing the most beautiful and wonderful Gabriel's Oboe with the HT playing a solo on a soprano sax? (possibly, possibly not. I am not musical and have been Googling to try to work out what it was!) - absolutely amazing!
Tonight's Blip is Lewis playing cello at the concert. He will soon be chasing big brother at first desk!
