Cumbria Here I Come

Misty's first swim

Misty had her first swim in Crummock Water today, I was so surprised as I thought she was going to stay a paddler.  She swam lots and lots and is quite fast.  I'd planned to have a day out with a friend who wanted to see some Bee Orchids and I knew just the place nr Whitehaven.  Unfortunately she was poorly overnight so wasn't able to come but I still went as it was such a lovely day.

After Crummock Water we went to Clints Quarry nr Whitehaven and found the Bee Orchids as well as the Common and Marsh ones.  The Bee Orchids are only just starting to come out and will probably be at their best in another week or so.  I really like this nature reserve, its so peaceful and full of wonderful wildflowers, I could have spent hours there.   Got chatting to a lady who was doing a survey on butterflies but she said she'd hardly seen any.

Anyhow I had to blip Misty's first swim as there will never be another and have included the Bee Orchid  and another of Crummock Water in the extras.
