Praying Mantis 13 Days Old..Can You Say Tiny Alien

We have not had any rain in Portland for several weeks.
And that is normal for mid-summer but not right now. We are also expecting a week or more of the high 90s starting in a few days, also not normal.

So the mantes get a water spritz a few times a day. Which means the two "places" where we put the two hatches get spritzed. We are seeing a half dozen here and there, but they are about the length of a pin, so those visually challenged or impatient will not notice them. Some are friendly, like this one that let me get somewhat close with a monster Nikon and even closer with the iPhone and macro attached (used here).
