Big Brother

These life size model policemen can often be seen on the roads of Japan signaling that roadworks or some danger is approaching. The sight of one has always made me smile.

This one especially caught my interest as it was not part of any roadworks, rather standing guard in the bushes next to the gate in someone's garden.

When I walked closer and tried to take a photo, the owners came out and we struck up a conversation. When I mentioned M's school, the daughter of the house said, " oh I've been up there recently for the school festival , it was great!"

I said thanks and moved on, but it left me feeling warm and fuzzy.
