Down by the riverside ..

I finally went back to my crochet group this afternoon and returned home via a local river.

I sat in my van and crocheted mostly - a kingfisher landed in a nearby tree and then I heard a plop ...  it was an otter!

I've sat in the same spot many times because I'd been told there were otters there, but my only previous sighting turned out to be a mink.

Sadly, it's Waterboard/Environment Agency land, and although the chap who 'ad a word with me was theoretically happy for me to be there with my camera he was afraid dog walkers and anglers would see me and they aren't at all welcome.

Boo - just when you think you've hit the jackpot ...
