Solstice rainbow

No summer sunshine on the Solstice - not much, anyway! A grey, drizzly start to the day and, later, lots of short but heavy showers passing over. Late afternoon, as we travelled down to Alnmouth for a walk on the beach and a picnic (in the car), there were lots of part rainbows. Unfortunately, I failed to get a shot of an amazing rainbow reflecting from the clouds like red fire, as there was no safe place to park at the time. This shot was taken from Alnmouth beach and, yes, it really was that vivid!

We were on our way to the Sage in Gateshead to see Peggy Seeger with Neill and Calum MacColl. Brilliant concert! Amazing lady!
