Love the way the cold makes water droplets go off in all directions.

Housebound today. The snow has become smooth and hard. I was afraid of falling over and not being able to get up again  :-/

I caught a glimpse of a serious confrontation between two pairs of waxeyes. There’s a poor quality composite shot of them in extras. All four birds were shaking their wings in the classic waxeye threat, on either side of the sugar water dispenser. They looked so funny. Suddenly the male on the left attacked the male on the right, while his mate sprang to claim the dispenser’s perch. The other female flew away, and so too did her mate. I think the victorious pair are the resident birds.
