Betsy's Sporadic Blips

Classic Summer's Day

Except in one respect perhaps. Historically, I have had quite good health: perhaps that is changing. I am finally beginning to recover from pneumonia. It's ironic given that it can and does drop in winter to nearly minus forty air-temperature in the Twin Cities (never mind the windchill) that I should contract pneumonia in the summer. I had just begun a program of rehabilitation after improvement in my ruptured and herniated disc with its accompanying sciatic nerve pain (and its special kind of agony). And now summer pneumonia. I thought I was going to cough myself into oblivion, and just when I seemed to be improving, a relapse and my temperature went into the hundreds. Today was the first time in two weeks I felt my energy returning and finally got up to the park with my languishing but patient dog.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there. Thinking of my own Dad, Basil, who passed in 1971.
