Falmer Poppy Fields

We were up early this morning as Alan was flying to San Francisco again and the limousine picked him up at 8.20am.

I'd arranged to meet my friend Vanessa for brunch at Bill's in Lewes, and on the way I stopped at Falmer and went for a walk in the poppy fields. There are so many, but I think in another week or two the fields will be totally red. It probably didn't help my hay fever, but it had to be done, and there were skylarks in the fields so the sound was amazing.

Vanessa and I spent a lovely couple of hours catching up and we realised that it was November when we last saw each other, so we've said we mustn't leave it so long next time!

I then went to Shoreham to pick up some black out liners for the curtains in our bedroom, and then when I got home I took the boys for a walk to the beach. The sea was quite rough so there were some pretty big waves! But when I got home I was able to sit in the garden - it was windy but warm.

Alan's just messaged me to say he's arrived - it's been a long time since he left the morning!
