Rothwell Pit Wheel

Although it's not obvious from the photo this memorial is in the centre of a very busy roundabout. It is in memory of all past mine workers who worked at the Rothwell, John O'Gaunts "Fanny Pit" from 1867 to 1983. The colliery site is now home to Rothwell Country Park.
