I'm not going to lie, Saturday logistics are easier to handle when the ratio of adults is higher than it was today. I mean, it's do-able of course and there are no overlapping activities which makes it easier and practically it is not really a problem, but boy do I miss the emotional support of my lovely husband when he isn't around on a weekend day.

As well as the usual football and swimming slots I managed to negotiate through a potentially difficult trade deal between my eldest boy and our neighbour with whom he is on the cusp of a friendship, enforce some weekend jobs were completed satisfactorily, and buy and pair of sannies for myself (the seventh pair of shoes bought by our family this week (four of which need returning).

We ate a proper pasta lunch (a new tactic in negotiating the afternoon swim session) al fresco, and shared a fish supper for tea (although no longer does a jumbo haddock supper feed three it would appear). In all, I'm taking the day as a win.
