Young Roe Deer
This tends to be the time of year when we see young deer near our roads. Unfortunately, they have little road sense and are often struck by passing cars. Indeed, in the last few years I have had the misfortune of colliding with 2 of them - a fully grown Sika and a much smaller Roe.
Today, as we travelled to Southend for lunch, we spotted this young Roe deer quietly standing at the side of the road near Greenhill, just south of Carradale. It seemed to have little fear of people or cars and I was able to get out and grab a few blips. At one point it came even closer and let out some yelping sounds. Unfortunately, the noise of other passing cars chased it away into the undergrowth.
Still, a good opportunity for a blip!
Decided to add an extra photo of Dunaverty, just to show what a beautiful spot it is!
