Young Talent

Spent the morning taking pictures at the Portobello Music School end of term showcase. On three floors of the local primary school building there was so much rehearsal and performance going on it was difficult to keep up with it all! Some of the classes performed in classrooms, with parents and families crowded in to hear them but there were also some performances in the gym building. Including among others the drummers who all benefitted from a bit more space. Notable amongst them was this young lad who I think is just 13 and has passed his Grade 8. Watching him perform I thought back to Wednesday night at the Hydro and watching Mick Fleetwood so clearly loving playing his drums. Will this guy still be playing in fifty plus years time I wonder? Here's hoping. Loads more pictures to sort through but the man that runs the school said this boy's parents had given permission to use his picture online, so he makes a great subject for today's blip.
