Water
Water, water everywhere.
The South Island faced some dreadful weather on Thursday/Friday. We haven't fared too badly here but there has been an awful lot of rain.
This is Maruia Falls. The same falls can be seen here - when they're not in flood.
The spot I stood to take the earlier photo is under about 6 feet of water.
That entire rock face is covered in water and the force is throwing entire tree trunks over the edge as if they were twigs. I watched a few go over but didn't manage to capture them - too fast for the slow shutter setting to register them.
The roar of the water and the boom of sliding rocks and trees is pretty phenomenal.
