A Postcard from Southwold
No trip to the Suffolk Coast and Heaths AONB would be complete without a visit to Southwold with its beach, lighthouse and pier, its colourful beach huts, its eclectic mix of shops, and its wonderful harbour with its picturesque boats and fishermen's huts. Although the sky looks a bit dramatic here, it wasn't a bad day. It was mostly grey, but not too cold and it stayed dry. We splashed out on a print from a local artist, a lovely hand painted vase, and some lovely local fish and freshly dug potatoes, locally grown asparagus and strawberries for supper. I spent the day without my long lens even though there were some good bird photo ops by the harbour, and managed to take the wrong lens with me, but still got a few photos of the beach, town and harbour that I was quite pleased with.
