Broomrape
Down to Seaford bay with the spaniel this afternoon. I found this common broomrape in its less usual brown form. An interesting leafless plant that has no chlorophyll and is totally dependent on other plants for nutrients. The brown version appears to be dead when in its actually in its prime. The vegetation was very dense so I wasn't sure what it was living on, clover seemed to be the best candidate.
