Rodin
In the garden of the Cantor Museum at Stanford University. I was on a field trip with a group of painters. We are taking a 2-day class in Old Master techniques with acrylic paint, and the instructor took us on a tour of several pieces, explaining how and why they work. So much to think about: contrast, brush strokes, texture, opacity. Oh yeah, and maybe color. And composition. The real fun starts tomorrow when we break out our own easels and learn firsthand about layering.
