Orchid

Another grey day and feeling cold with it. Took this photo of the orchid on the afternoon walk. Had the tups, rigs and assortment from their field into the shed this morning, really was hoping to clip them but they aren’t ready yet we are waiting for a rise in their wool where it has the new growth underneath pushing out the old fleece, then they are ready and very nice to clip. They have next to no rise yet so really needing the warm weather for them to be ready. Its all very disappointing. Another reason for bringing that field in is that even though it is grossly understocked, they are keeping it very short so I have remove some sheep that didn’t need to be in that field to try and ease the grazing pressure. It is just too cold yet for the grass to be growing as it usually does. Its quite a worry and I am hoping that the silage will get going as this will be our winter feeding and if there isn’t much then we will have to buy in more which makes things a lot more expensive.
