Anyone for risotto?

Another wet and windy day today, but as the deluge at lunchtime was of less biblical proportions than yesterday I togged up in my waterproofs and ventured out into Lickey woods.

I soon came across something that is clearly enjoying the everlasting wet. I am told on good authority that this bracket fungus is Laetiporus sulphureus, and is sometimes known as "Chicken of the Woods". Apparently it is edible and allegedly tastes of chicken.

I've seen a recipe for making a risotto from it, but I don't like the look of it so I left it right where it was.
