Red-tailed Hawk Buzzes Pond
What a crazy morning! First I thought it was an eagle because it was huge...but as I ran for the door, I realized it was a hawk. As soon as I touched the "squeeky screen door", it flew from the tree directly towards the growing baby mallard ducks in the pond. They quickly went into protection mode, and the hawk landed on the green next to the pond where he pranced around for a bit before he found what looked to be a mouse on the pond's edge. Then he flew up to a rooftop chimney surround where he stayed for quite a spell. All the while he kept trying to cough up something....and photos do not lie....he coughed up a mouse! Seriously!!!! Check out the photos on flickr....eek!
