The staircase

This is the staircase in my nephew's home in the Aude district in France. We're here to help him celebrate his 50th birthday (how can our nephew be 50?). The main part of the house is a barn from the 1800s but this room and staircase is from the 1920s when an actress built it and wanted a stairway where she could make an entrance. I think she got one. We're enjoying proper warmth here, I had a lovely swim in the pool before going for dinner in the square which is beautiful, see my extra.
