Calm ...
... before the storm.
I went in to have a couple of tyres fitted to the van. This means hanging around in the reception watching daytime television or going for a walk around the industrial estate. There's always going to be a treasure or two around there. It's in the area around the station at Newton Abbot which used to be an important depot and there are all sorts of old buildings, now being used for something else. I've not noticed this trolley with its pot of flowers on the station before. It's the sort of thing you'd be more likely to see on a preserved line rather than the Paddington-Penzance main line.
The village festival gets under weigh tomorrow. We were hoping to have a final rehearsal on the stage and a soundcheck with the tech team for the Commitments gig on Friday. There was too much else going on so we've arranged to have a quick sound check on Friday which is probably a better time.
The Photo Club display is up. It's pictures from the last festival two years ago and it's good to see them there. The next few days are likely to be a bit manic around here with the festival and family arriving so I'll have to dive in, upload and drop a comment or two when I can.
There are a couple of extras today. The first of them is of the bridge atTown Quay. It would probably have been my blip but I blipped a very similar shot the last time I had tyres fitted. The second is a shot from the corner of the festival marquee with the club's display boards and some of the mad old birds from the Outdoor Art Group who are displaying rubbish light shades or light shades made from rubbish.
