and in this corner, "Uncle Sugar"

Okay, so like, in the mail yesterday She received notice (actually, it was sort of like a demand) to appear at the United States Federal Building in Oakland California on the 22nd of the month of June at 9 a.m. for a "formal" review of her "qualification" status for inclusion on a federal grand jury panel.

Her response: "why wait till the 22nd, let's go now, I'd love to participate"

My reply: "There must be a mistake, you're not a citizen!"

Anyway, off to Oakland we went, bearing proof of both her immigration status and her disqualifying "passport" stamp.

If nothing else, the weather yesterday was nice and the government people, once informed of the error, were quite understanding and pleasant, even when informing her that regardless of the information presented, not appearing on the 22nd was (possibly) punishable by the issuance of an arrest warrant with her name on the first line.

"Oh, by the way, I love your accent"

("Uncle Sugar" he don't play)

It's wide angle Wednesday today and the theme is "corner" okay, and I guess you could say my contribution is this seemingly bizarre encounter with bureaucracy: located on the "corner" of "reality and insanity"

The photos were taken in Oakland, while trying to avoid speaking on the inane stupidity of it all
