inspired by poppy buds

Another wet day for us to grumble about. However, the water but is filling nicely and the yew hedge won't need watering. We are off on holiday tomorrow to meet up with old friends at Ross on Wye. I have a whole pile of clean clothes laid out on the bed. Now all I have to do is to decide what to take. Will it be hot or cold, wet or dry? I guess I must take something for every eventuality.

One last look round the garden before we go. The poppy plant is covered in these fat spherical buds. Give them a hot day and those crushed up silk petals will unfurl into a real beauty of a flower. I hope the plant saves some for our return.
