Waffles for breakfast?

The Citizen M hotel on Renfrew Street was opened just more than a year ago and describes itself as "futuristic". Haven't been inside it yet but it looks very stylish and different from the outside.
Maybe it was Belgian influenced? Or perhaps the owners just like waffles?
