Old Monk

This is my Dad's Father's Day present; a bottle of Old Monk Rum.

He discovered this a good few years ago on holiday in Goa, it was their local tipple and is made in India.

It's a lovely dark rum, very smooth on the palate and not what you'd expect from India!

Although Dad isn't actually drinking at the moment (due to medication), he still said to get it for him and then he's something to look forward to once his meds have finished.
I have a sneaking suspicion that a taster may be had before this happens though ;-)

It's not easy to find; I ordered it from a place called 'The Whiskey Exchange' and it was considerably more than the 87p (yes, 87 PENCE) that it cost my Dad when he brought bottles of it home from holiday.

Still, he's worth it.
