horns of wilmington's cow

My kind of triathlon

Rain threatened, but optimism won out, as before lunchtime we headed out on the bikes for the short two and a half mile trip to the very end of the road, where we then walked up to an impressive Broch, Dun Totaig; the return leg saw Loch Duich like glass, and so after my successful test of the kayak yesterday we then both headed out, and despite seeing a couple of seals before venturing afloat, had an uneventful, but thoroughly pleasant, bit of time on the water.

With rain falling within minutes of us getting back in we took to motorised transport for a gander at a new seafood shack at the Kyle, which in the evening completed the triathlon, indulging in a ceviche of scallop, and some lovely prawn tails (as well as salad and garlic potatoes and wine and beer...).

We can now see virtually none of the hills around the loch outside our front door, rain falling steadily, as the wood burner quietly bubbles away.

Comfy.
