All I wanted to do today was rest but was dragged out kicking and screaming persuaded to go on a walk near Keswick. From Castlerigg  a 5 mile slog wander via Tewet Tarn and High Rigg, then a circular route back to Castlerigg.  Honestly, it's a lovely walk, one of my favourites in fact, but today I just wasn't in the mood for hiking. 

We watched some coots and reed buntings at the tarn and I actually enjoyed  the return section (on the flat) through fields of wild flowers. An ice cream van at the finish was so tempting but I must get back to the calorie counting.
