South Fork Nooksack Larson's Reach
Well springtime in the PacNW generally means two things those being cool wet weather and project tours/presentations for next years projects to be funded by the Salmon Recovery Funding Board (SRFB). Today we got a does of both but it was a great day.
This is a picture of a section of the South Fork Nooksack River in the upper watershed. In the early 2000's the Lummi Nation constructed a large wood project to prevent the river from destabilizing a landslide (pictured), reduce sediment inputs to the river, and create pool habitat in the project reach. To date the project has worked great.
